Refinance paperwork needed
Prepare the documents for a mortgage refinance application.

For both borrower and co-borrower, when applicable. Your underwriter may request more items. Upload identification and financial records through the secure application.
A) Bank statements
- Two most recent months of statements, all pages
- Include accounts used for cash to close or requested reserves
- Use the loan team’s written estimate for closing costs and initial escrow funding. Separately confirm any reserves required after closing. These are different amounts and depend on the loan.
B) Identity and eligibility records
- Government-issued identification accepted by your lender
- Additional residency or eligibility records only when the lender requests them for the applicable program
- Ask which records apply to your application. This checklist does not determine eligibility based on citizenship or immigration status.
C) Income verification
- W-2 forms for the most recent two years
- Three most recent pay stubs
- Year-end pay stubs for the most recent two years, when requested
D) Property ownership, if applicable
For every property you own, including the home you plan to refinance:
- Monthly mortgage statement
- Home insurance declaration page
- HOA statement
- Property tax bill, if applicable
- Current lease for each investment or rental property
This is a starting list, not a condition for receiving a Loan Estimate. For covered loans, the lender must provide a Loan Estimate after receiving the six required application details, without requiring verification documents first. Documents and eligibility depend on your program, lender, and underwriting review.
